IMMR is committed to being a world leader, science driven center of expertise in preclinical testing of medical devices and research projects. As part of the assessment of the safety, performance and efficacy of a new biomaterial or device, the Pathology Department of IMMR offers an integrated, comprehensive, state of the art and GLP compliant portfolio that includes samples processing, evaluation, interpretation and reporting.
Pathology is the gold standard for the evaluation of device performance and safety in preclinical models and has a central position in the regulatory guidance documents (ISO 10993, ASTM International, EMEA guidelines and FDA recommendations). Macroscopic and microscopic evaluation performed in a carefully selected animal model provides critical information regarding biological responses to a medical device or biomaterial.
At IMMR, we strive for excellence and quality in all our customer-oriented services. We offer both histology services and expert macroscopic as well as microscopic evaluation. We aim to deliver preclinical and research data in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Protocols design, macroscopic assessment and tissue sampling are performed by professionals in close collaboration with the surgeons. Histopathological findings are therefore consistently correlated to the results of clinical evaluation, data from imaging and macroscopic findings at the time of explantation so that all members of the team share their experience and expertise.
Our pathology staff have many years of hands-on experience and provide reliable and skilled services with all the appropriate flexibility and responsiveness.
In addition to routine histology of paraffin embedded tissues samples, standard or special staining, and immunohistochemistry, the IMMR Pathology Department carries out resin sectioning for large or hard medical devices and hard tissues.
