A cystoscope is positioned in the bladder, passing through the internal urethral sphincter and bladder neck visualizing the trigone region, where urine can be seen flowing into the bladder via the ureteral orifices!

Cystoscopy is a procedure performed to image the interior of the urinary bladder using a thin endoscopic camera or cystoscope. This procedure allows direct, primarily diagnostic visualization of the urethra, urethral sphincter (and prostate in males), urinary bladder and ureteral orifices.

At IMMR, our state-of-the-art suite of equipment for urology procedures includes fiberscopes, endoscopy column and X-ray guided fluoroscopic system for image-guided urological imaging and surgery.

Large animal models are valuable in the development and evaluation of new urology products including ureteral stents, prosthetic or bioresorbable scaffolds for urinary tract reconstruction, laser prostatectomy systems and other surgical and robotic technologies.
